Cloud DC Migration
Inputiv migrated Domain Controllers for a 120-user religious institution to the cloud using OneDrive, resolving GPO folder redirection and onboarding challenges seamlessly.

Business Problem
120 users operated on two Domain Controllers (DC01 primary, DC-01 secondary) with all user data stored centrally on DCs via GPO folder redirection. The organisation needed to move to a cloud-first model — eliminating on-premise DCs while preserving all GPO-driven data access and enabling smooth new user onboarding.
Our Solution
We migrated all folder-redirected user data to OneDrive using Known Folder Move policy, replaced GPO-based redirection with Intune configuration profiles, and decommissioned both DCs after a successful 48-hour parallel run with zero user disruption.

Data Audit & GPO Mapping
Inventoried all 120 user profiles, folder redirection GPOs, and data volumes. Estimated OneDrive storage requirements and validated M365 licensing.

Deployed Known Folder Move (KFM) silently via Intune policy — Desktop, Documents, and Pictures redirected to OneDrive without any user action required.

Azure AD Join & Intune Enrolment
Re-joined all devices to Azure AD, removed legacy domain join. Intune configuration profiles replaced every existing GPO policy across the fleet.

DC Decommission
After 48-hour parallel run with no issues reported, both DCs were gracefully decommissioned. DNS was migrated to Azure, DHCP moved to the network switch.
